Qualcomm expected to make $4.5B+ from Apple Settlement

Apple and Qualcomm have ceased their long-running dispute over licensing and exclusivity. The tech giants announced their ‘truce’ in mid-April with Apple releasing a statement confirming that the two companies have reached a global patent license agreement and a chipset supply agreement. This agreement ends all ongoing litigation, including with Apple’s contract manufacturers.

Qalcomm’s Q2 earnings report estimated revenues of US$4.5B derived from the Apple settlement. Since the deal’s announcement in mid-April, shares in Qualcomm have soared over 43%.
